BIO
Laura Shull is an oil painter based in Marietta, Georgia. She earned her BFA in drawing and painting from Kennesaw State University in 2014 and has since exhibited her work locally and throughout the Southeast.
She creates original oil paintings and works closely with clients to create custom commissioned pieces, and offers select works as fine art prints online and in local shops. When not in the studio, she can often be found wandering antique stores in search of inspiration or spending time at home with her cats in their little farmhouse.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Laura Shull’s oil paintings depict women indulging freely in moments of pleasure and delight. Working from her studio, she designs and collects her own costumes, dresses models in 18th Century–inspired wigs and accessories, and stages elaborate backdrops to build richly imagined scenes that feel both intimate and theatrical.
Inspired by the extravagance of the Rococo period, French pastries, and social expectations of femininity, her work blends classical art references with contemporary culture to create evocative, playful images.
